Helium's Caring Caregivers

What is a Caregiver?

Some of us are health professionals, others lay persons with no formal training. We work together when we can and alone when we must. Our patients can be strangers, friends, or loved ones. We share the joy of birth, do our best to ease the pain of the sick and comfort the dying.

Health and life are precious and we strive to preserve both. We care and we invite you to share in this caring.

The Three C's of Caregiving

Hello Caring Caregivers

Greetings , thank you for stopping by.

 Helium Caring Caregivers

As caregivers and as professionals in Health Care we need to continually strive for the delivery of high quality health care . It is our responsibility as professionals to challenge the ordinary and improve where we can. It is essential that we continually educate ourselves and influence others in a positive way . However, we must always remember, that it is our caring that ultimately heals. Whether it be  those we care for or the system that we practice within.

This caring caregivers zone will try to keep you informed on topics in the health care area. We are a fluid site and we welcome feedback from all of our visitors.  If you would like to add a comment, or ask a question, please do so in the area below this zone.

Crabby Old Man..

What do you see nurses?  What do you see?

What are you thinking...when you look at me?

A crabby old man...not very wise,

Uncertain of habit..with faraway eyes?

Who dribbles his food...and makes no reply

When you say in a loud voice." I do wish you'd try !."

Who seems not to notice ..the things that you do.

And forever is losing..a sock or a shoe?

Who,  resisting or not..  lets you do as you will.

With bathing and feeding.. the long day to fill ?

Is that what your thinking ? ..Is that what you see?

Then open your eyes,nurse...your not looking at me.

This is part of the poem left by an elderly man who died in a nursing home.

It was believed that he had nothing left of any value
